MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Alabama State women's volleyball team picked up their fifth-straight victory as they trounced Bethune-Cookman 3-0 to remain undefeated in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE

• Bethune-Cookman jumped out to an early 6-1 lead before Alabama State stormed back to cut the deficit to one (6-5).
• BCU extended their advantage back to three behind two errors from ASU (8-5).
• The Wildcats were up 12-10 before the Lady Hornets opened up a 6-0 rally to take a four-point lead midway through set one.
• BCU fought back to get within one after three errors from ASU. 
• Both teams battled until they found themselves knotted at 18 apiece.
• Alabama State closed out set one on a 7-2 run to claim the 25-20 victory and take a 1-0 set lead.

SET TWO

• Kalysia Bates started set one with a kill that sparked a 6-0 run for the Lady Hornets. 
• BCU tallied two points before ASU poured on four more scores to hold a 10-2 lead over the Wildcats.
• Alabama State's lead grew to 15-3 midway through set two.
• The Lady Hornets continued to dominate as they finished the second frame on a 10-5 run to trounce BCU 25-8 and take a 2-0 set lead.
• Jada Rhodes and Kalysia Bates registered four kills apiece in set two.

SET THREE

• ASU held an early 5-1 advantage in set three behind two kills from Kalysia Bates and another from Jada Rhodes.
• The Lady Hornets continued to control the momentum as they found themselves up 13-4.
• BCU showed some fight but Alabama State remained in control as they cruised to a 25-12 third-set victory and a 3-0 sweep to remain undefeated in conference play. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Alabama State registered 43 kills as a team with a .373 hit percentage while Bethune-Cookman only recorded 17 kills on 73 total attacks. 
• Jada Rhodes led the Lady Hornets in kills with a game-high 15 followed by Kalysia Bates with seven on the night. 
• Temperance Chatman continues to assert her defensive presence as she tallied a game-high 11 digs and three assists in the win.
• Emily Brooks handed out a match-high 18 helpers in the setter position with seven digs to add to her stat line.
• Kalysia Bates and Mahogany Vinson notched one solo block apiece.
