HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jackson State claimed an early 7-2 before a 3-pointer by Ayana Emmanuel trimmed the score to 7-5 at the 6:53 mark of the first quarter.
- Emmanuel, who had seven of ASU's nine points in the opening quarter, made another layup to cut the JSU lead to 10-7 with 3:18 remaining in the first quarter.
- Jackson State outscored 25-9 in the first quarter, closing the quarter on a 7-0 run
- The Tigers opened the second quarter on a 6-0 run, outscoring Alabama State 15-10 to build a 40-19 lead at halftime.
- The Tigers started the third quarter on a 17-5 run to build a 57-24 lead.
- Alabama State went 1-for-13 from the floor for 7.7 percent with nine points coming from the free throw line to trail 67-30 heading into the final quarter.
- The Lady Hornets closed on a good note, scoring 18 points and shooting 38.9 percent.
