SET 1 | Alabama State opened the match on a 5-0 run behind the serving of Beasley before Jackson State roared back to trim the deficit to 5-4. The Lady Hornets used a sideout and kills from Whitten and Rhodes to build an 8-5 lead. Jackson State took its first lead at 9-8 and extended the lead using a 6-0 run forcing a timeout. The two teams battled out of the timeout with the Lady Hornets going on a 6-2 run to take a 19-17 lead. Jackson State went on a 3-0 run to take a 20-19 lead before Rhodes tied the set up and 3-0 run that forced a timeout after the Lady Hornets grabbed a 22-20 lead. Alabama State was able to put the set away on a kill by Whitten.

SET 2 | The two teams traded points early in the set until a kill from Cobb, followed by a tandem block from Whitten and Taila Gaines gave Alabama State an 11-8 lead. After a timeout called by Jackson State, the Lady Hornets went on a 4-0 run to extend the lead to 18-12 using kills from Christyn Ashby and Rhodes, and a service ace from Logan Horne to force a timeout up 18-12. The lead grew to as many as seven (22-15) before the Tigers pulled to within 22-17 forcing an Alabama State timeout. The Tigers closed to 22-19 before a pair of kills from Cobb helped put the set away.

SET 3 | The two teams battled throughout the first few points of the set before Alabama State went on a 4-0 run to grab a 12-7 lead using a pair of kills from Whitten and a service ace from Beasley. The Tigers fought their way back into the set, tying it at 13-all before back-to-back points by the Lady Hornets gave Alabama State a 15-13 lead. After Jackson State came back and tied the set at 21-all, Rhodes gave Alabama State a 23-21 lead with her 13th kill of the match to force a timeout.
