MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State closes out the home portion of its 2023 schedule this weekend, hosting a pair of Texas schools beginning Friday night at the ASU Soccer Complex.
 
The Lady Hornets, in a dead heat with four teams for a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) tournament berth with three matches remaining, opens the weekend against Texas Southern. They will close it out against Prairie View A&M on Sunday afternoon honoring three seniors – Payson Hacker, Kassandra Schoen, and Grace Norbury – before the match.
 
Admission is free to both matches.

• Alabama State is currently eighth in the conference standings after its win over Mississippi Valley State last Sunday. The Lady Hornets are one game back of Prairie View A&M and ahead of Alabama A&M and Mississippi Valley State by percentage points.
• The Lady Hornets have three regular season matches remaining, including the pair this weekend, closing out the regular season on the road at Alabama A&M.
• Camila Jimenez leads the team in scoring and goals this season, putting four goals in the back of the net and scoring 13 points (has five assists). She is joined as the team leader in goals with Iliana Casiano and Schoen.
