MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Texas Southern scored in the 61st minute and made it hold up in a 2-1 win over Alabama State in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action on Friday.
 
Lauryn Starwood turned back nine shots in the nets for the Lady Hornets while Texas Southern goalkeeper Jaidyn Christoper had five saves.

How It Happened

• 10:59 -  Isabella Dillow gave Texas Southern the early lead, Texas Southern, 1-0.
• 57:19 -  Madison Chambers tied the game for Alabama State, 1-1.
• 61:26 -  Lilian Clase Baez netted the game-winner, Texas Southern 2-1. 

Texas Southern held a 22-16 in overall shots and a 11-7 edge in shots on goal.
