MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Camila Jimenez scored the equalizer late in the second half to help Alabama State pick up a big point in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings with a 1-1 draw with Southern at the ASU Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon.

After a first-half goal from Southern, the Lady Hornets continued to press until a shot off the left foot of Jimenez beat Southern goalkeeper Sydney Bellamy to tie the match. Although Southern outshot Alabama State 20-5, only nine of those were on goal with
Lauryn Starwood recording eight.
