BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | TJ Madlock led Alabama State to its best shooting night of the season in an 88-73 victory over North Carolina A&T at the Pete Hanna Center on Friday afternoon.

Madlock led Alabama State (2-4) with 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the floor while grabbing six rebounds. He was joined in double figures by
Isaiah Range with 13 and
CJ Hines with 10 points and six rebounds.

Alabama State finished the night shooting 55.7 (34-of-61) percent from the floor and 43.8 (7-of-16) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 65.0 (13-of-20) percent from the free throw line, while winning the rebounding battle 41-29.

Jeremy Robinson led North Carolina A&T (0-5) with 18 points, while Camian Shella added 16.

How It Happened
- There were 10 lead changes in the contest with the game tied six different times, with Alabama State grabbing its biggest lead of the game at 17 points with 4:10 to play in the game.
- The Hornets took the lead at 14-12 with 15:04 to play in the first half and grew the lead to as many as 12 in the second half with 2:48 to play in the half (47-35).
- After North Carolina A&T grabbed a lead in the second half (55-51), the Hornets battled back and took the lead for good with 14:09 to play in the game on a Range three-pointer.
- The lead grew to 17 after the Hornets held North Carolina A&T without a basket for just over 10 minutes – 2:42 mark of the second half.
- Alabama State scored more points off turnovers (17-10), in the paint (48-20), fast break (22-15), and bench (24-11).
Alabama State Notes
- The Hornets shot 55.7 (34-of-61) percent from the floor, topping the mark set earlier this season against Oglethorpe (53.9 percent).
- They also shot 43.8 (7-of-16) percent from beyond the arc, topping the mark set against Memphis (37.5 percent).
- Hines scored in double figures for the sixth straight time to open the season with the six assists setting a new season high.
- The 25 points scored by Madlock set a new season-high for the junior and the Hornets this season.
