BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State junior guard
TJ Madlock earned his second Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Week award, announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Madlock averaged 15 points per game over the Thanksgiving week, helping Alabama State to a pair of wins at the Samford MTE. The junior finished the week shooting 55.9 (19-of-34) percent from the floor and converted 62.5 (5-of-8) percent from the free throw line. He grabbed 16 total rebounds from his guard spot, averaging 5.3 per game, dished out five assists, and recorded five steals.

The junior scored 25 points in a win over North Carolina A&T, snapping a two-game losing streak, and added another 16 against Merrimack on Saturday to wrap play over the week for the Hornets. Against North Carolina A&T, Madlock converted on 61.1 (11-of-18) percent shooting from the floor and grabbed six rebounds, while he shot 40.0 (6-of-15) percent from the floor with seven rebounds against Merrimack.

Alabama State (3-4) returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. against Mississippi College inside the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
