TJ Madlock and senior guard
Isaiah Range swept the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Players of the Week award this week, announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Madlock became the first three-time winner of the SWAC Player of the Week after winning the award in week one and week three. The junior averaged 16.5 points per game in contests against USC and Auburn this week, scoring a game-high 17 points against USC. He added 16 points, all in the second half, against Auburn on the road to run his streak of double-figure games to 10 of 11 this season. He finished the week connecting on 40.0 (12-of-30) percent of his shots. Madlock also grabbed four rebounds, dished out four assists, blocked three shots, and recorded three steals.

Meanwhile, Range won the first SWAC Impact Player of the Week award this season for Alabama State after averaging 14.5 points per game in a pair of games against USC and Auburn. The senior scored a team-high 16 points against Auburn and added 13 against USC while shooting 37.5 (12-of-32) percent from the floor with five three-pointers. He also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out a pair of assists, and recorded a pair of steals in the two games. Range has scored in double figures in six of the seven games since his return this season.

Alabama State returns to action on Friday, Dec. 29, against South Florida. The game tips at 7 p.m. (ET) in Tampa (Fla.).
