Ayana Emmanuel combined for 41 points to lead the Alabama State University women's basketball team to a 65-54 win over Florida A&M University on Saturday at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
The Lady Hornets claimed their fourth straight win as three players scored in double digits. Ward had 21 points followed by Emmanuel with 20 and
Jayla Crawford with 11.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half saw four ties and eight lead changes.
- Alabama State held a 24-19 lead, the largest lead of either team in the first half when Dakiayah Sanders hit a 3-pointer with 2:02 remaining in the second quarter.
- The Lady Rattlers fought back to tie the game 25-25 heading into halftime.
- FAMU claimed a 30-26 lead on an Ivet Subirats basket with 7:10 left in the third quarter.
- Ayana Emmanuel converted two-free throws to stake the Lady Hornets to a 43-38 lead at the 2:35 mark of the third quarter.
- Emmanuel hit a corner 3-pointer to give Alabama State with 1:04 remaining in the third quarter.
- Dylan Horton's basket cut the Lady Hornets' lead to 46-40 heading into the final quarter.
- The lead grew to 52-42 at the 7:21 mark of the fourth quarter after Shmya Ward scored four straight points.
- Alabama State continued to pull away, taking a 56-42 lead on two Emmanuel free throws with 6:08 left in the game.
- Six straight points from Emmanuel gave the Lady Hornets a 63-47 lead with under 3:00 to play in the fourth quarter.
- FAMU would never get closer than 11 points the rest of the way.
