MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University baseball rally from a 6-1 deficit came up short as visiting Yale University held on for a 7-4 win in the series finale on Sunday at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Randy Flores singled and scored on a Jack Hay single to center field to give Alabama State a 1-0 lead in the first.
- Jimmie Chatfield singled in a run to tie the game 1-1 in the third.
- Yale scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings to build its lead to 5-1. Davis Hanson singled home two runs in the fourth.
- Ian Matos got hit by a pitch and later scored on a Cristian Lopez sac-fly in the seventh, and Flores singled and scored on a Hay single in the eighth.
- Chatfield walked and scored on a Tommy Martin double in the ninth to stretch the lead to 7-4.
- Trailing 7-3 in the ninth, Alabama State load bases but could only manage one run on Trenton Jamison's pinch-hit double.
ON THE MOUND
- Starter Kyler McIntosh (0-1) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits.
- Colton Shaw (1-0) pitched 7.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts to get the win.
- Daniel Cohen (1) earned the save, allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout in 1.2 innings pitched.
