TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama State University had a good night at the plate but was unable to keep up with the scoring of the University of Alabama in a 21-7 loss in seven innings Wednesday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crimson Tide took an early 2-0 before the Hornets got on the board in the top of the second inning on Ali Lapread's double that scored Jayden Sloan.
- ·ASU scored twice in the third on a Trenton Jamison double and a sacrifice fly by Jack Hay.
- Lepread hit his second home run of the season in the sixth inning with two aboard.
- Ian Matos added his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot in the final ASU at-bat, to close out the scoring.

- Five different ASU hitters had two hits in the game including Lepread, Matos, Sloan, Jamison and Randy Flores. Lapread, Sloan and Jamison each had a double.
- The two homers hit by the Hornets gave the team 16 for the season.
- Alabama, one of the nation's leading offensive teams, had four home runs in the game with eight different players registering hits.
