MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University baseball had five players with two RBI apiece while hitting five home runs to claim an 18-1 win over Mississippi Valley State University on Friday at the MVSU Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alabama State took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Randy Flores started the game with a single before scoring on a wild pitch after stealing second and third base.
- Trent Jamison hit a solo home run to left field to push the Hornets' lead to 2-0 in the second inning.
- Keith Harden cut the ASU lead in half, 2-1, with a solo home run to center field.
- Ali Lapread homered to center field with Jack Hay on base to give the Hornets a 4-1 lead in the top of the third.
- The Hornets added four runs in the fifth to build their lead to 8-1. Cristian Lopez had a two-run home run and Trent Jamison followed with a solo homer.
- Kyler McIntosh singled and scored on an Ian Matos home run to center field to give the Hornets a 10-1 lead in the eighth.
- Alabama State scored five times in the ninth highlighted by a two-run single Kerrigan Edmondson.
ON THE MOUND
- Ricardo Rivera (8-0) posted seven strikeouts and limited MVSU to one run on three hits as the winning pitcher.
- Hunter Stallings (2-5) worked 4.0 innings, giving up four runs on five hits with seven strikeouts to suffer the loss.
- Jorhan Laboy (3) scattered three hits over 3.0 scoreless with five strikeouts to earn his third save.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Jamison hit two of the Hornets' five home runs to run their SWAC-leading total to 71.
- Alabama State had double-digit hits for the 29th time this season, pounding out 12 hits.
