BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-  Linebacker Colton "Bubba" Adams and running back Ja'Won Howell will represent Alabama State Univesrity at the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference annual SWAC Football Media Day on Tuesday, July 25 at 10:00 am CST at the Sheraton-Birmingham.
 
Second-Year Head Coach Eddie Robinson Jr., along with the rest of the SWAC head football coaches to address media about the upcoming 2023 football season.

Adams was named BOXTOROW First-Team All-American, All-SWAC and Hero Sports Sophomore All-American selections. Adams led the SWAC and FCS with 11.6 tackles per game while starting in all 11 games at middle linebacker. The Wetumpka, Ala., native registered a SWAC-best 128 tackles and ranked second with 52 solo tackles. Adams ranked seventh in the SWAC with 1.2 tackles per game for loss along with two sacks, three pass breakups, and forced a fumble.

Howell tied for the team lead with four rushing touchdowns and played in all 11 games for the Hornets. The Lantett, Ala., native rushed 74 ties for 288 yards as part of a trio of backs in the Hornets' back field while also catching seven passes out of the back field for 54 yards.
