MACON, Ga. | Alabama State dropped a road non-conference to Mercer 9-0 on Sunday morning in a game that was moved up four hours due to excessive heat.
Mercer (2-0-2) scored early and added to its lead in the second half to pull away from Alabama State (0-3-1).
Lauryn Starwood recorded 13 saves in the loss.
