MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns home for its second home match of the season at the ASU Soccer Complex, hosting Talladega on Thursday night with kick set for 6 pm.
 
The match was originally scheduled to be played on the road on Friday, Sept. 1 in Talladega but a scheduling conflict moved the game to Montgomery.
 
Alabama State (0-3-1) and Talladega (0-1) have never met, and the Lady Hornets are in search of their first win after a Sunday loss to Mercer. The Lady Hornets have a pair of matches this week with the other coming on Sunday against Troy on the road, before returning home on Sept. 10 to face Georgia State.

Alabama State Notes

• The Lady Hornets are playing their second home match of the season, the first since dropping a 4-1 match to UAB last week.
• Alabama State goalkeeper Lauryn Starwood has recorded 36 saves in four matches, her first season with the Lady Hornets.
• Camila Jimenez leads Alabama State with three points, including her first goal since 2021 after missing last season. Kassandra Schoen and Kensley Simmons have each recorded a goal this season.

Talladega Notes

• Talladega dropped its season opener to Thomas on Aug. 24, 6-0 at home, and will be playing the first of two road matches this week.
• They finished 0-10 last season and won one game during the 2021 season.
• The Tornadoes have not scored a goal since Oct. 26, 2021, against Toccoa Falls, a span of 13 matches. They have given up 121 goals during that span.

• This is the first meeting between the two schools.
