MONTGOMERY, Ala. | A week after setting several personal bests and new marks in the record book, Alabama State returns to competition on Saturday in the Samford Open at the Birmingham Crossplex.
 
The event is part of a two-day event hosted by Samford, beginning with the Samford Invite on Friday.

The meet kicks off with the women's weight throw at 10 a.m. followed by 11 other field events culminating with the women's high jump at 4:30 p.m., while the track events begin at 11:40 a.m. with the 60-meter trials.
 
The Hornets will compete against Alabama-Huntsville, Alcorn State, UAPB, Belhaven, Birmingham-Southern, Emmanual (Ga.), MUW, Mississippi College, Missouri-St. Louis, Mobile, Montevallo, Ouachita Baptist, Reinhardt, Southeastern Louisiana, Shorter, Texas Southern, UAB, William Carey, and Xavier (La.).
