ASU Bowling Beats Another Ranked Team on Day One of the Southern Queens

BATON ROUGE, La. | Alabama State University bowling went 3-1 on the first day of the Southern Queens Invitational hosted by Southern University on Friday.
 
The Hornets sit in fourth place in the team standings with 4,463 total pints with a top score of 990 in the four matches. Lady Hornets are three pins out of third and 25 pins out of second entering day two.
 
Alabama State opened the day defeating Texas Southern 820-754 and then defeated eighth ranked Sam Houston State, 990-913.
 
ASU dropped a heart breaker to Southern University 869-858 and closed out the day with the win over Jackson State, 892-811.
 
On Saturday, the Lady hornets open with a position round against third place Tulane before taking on UAB, Tulane, Morgan State and Grambling State.
