UNCASVILLE, Conn. --The Alabama State men's basketball team got a 26-point performance from the bench but fell 71-54 to the Norfolk State Spartans at Mohegan Sun Arena Thursday.
The Hornets (4-7) had two players score in double figures, led by TJ Madlock, who had 17 points. CJ Hines added 13 points and three steals, and Amarr Knox added eight points, four assists, and two steals.
Led by Ubong Okon's two offensive rebounds, Alabama State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 13 boards that resulted in 10-second chance points.
The ASU defense effectively removed the basketball in Thursday's game, forcing 13 NSU turnovers while committing 11. Those takeaways turned into 13 points on the other end of the floor. Hines' three steals led the way individually for the Hornets.
