GAINESVILLE, Fla. | Cordasia Harris and O'Mariyah Tucker combined to score 19 total points, but Alabama State University women's basketball fell to the University of Florida 88-31 on the road Sunday.
Harris led the Hornets (2-10) with 15 points. Tucker tacked on four points and three steals and Alanah Pooler chipped in as well with three points off the bench.
Anaja Hall pulled down two offensive rebounds to lead an offense that racked up second chance opportunities for Alabama State, grabbing 12 boards and turning them into 12 second chance points.
Alabama State forced 14 Florida turnovers. The Hornets turned those takeaways into four points on the other end of the floor. Tucker's three steals led the way for Alabama State.
How It Happened
Alabama State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 21-7 at the end of the first quarter.
The Hornets continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 39-15 halftime deficit.
Alabama State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Hornets faced a 64-25 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter.
Alabama State could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 88-31. Alabama State took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring four of its six points in the paint.
