VERO BEACH, Fla. | Senior Randy Flores and senior Jack Hay each racked up four hits, but the Alabama State Hornets fell to Prairie View A&M 13-12 in 10 innings on Sunday.
Senior Luis Rodriguez (0-2) took the loss on the mound for Alabama State (3-5).
In addition to his four hits, Hay had a double and an RBI to lead the Hornets. Flores added a double and an RBI to his four-hit performance as well. Freshman Isaiah Landry also helped out for Alabama State, putting together three hits in five trips to the plate while adding a double and four RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets lost despite scoring in six different innings in the ballgame, last holding the lead in the eighth inning at 10-9. Alabama State's biggest output came in its four-run second inning. The big hit for the Hornets in the inning was a one-run single off the bat of Hay.
