PINE BLUFF, Ark. --The Alabama State volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 hole to record a comeback five-set victory (20-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-11) over the UAPB Lady Lions Sunday on the road at HO Clemmons Arena.
The conference victory improved Alabama State's record to 4-10 overall and 1-0 in SWAC action.
A'Nylah Cobb registered 11 kills and 10 digs on the day and was a difference-maker. Bailee Payne also added 15 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Breanna Swanson chipped in 14 digs and Kaylen Hines added a pair of blocks.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Hornets found themselves in an early deficit, dropping the first set 25-20. UAPB grabbed the advantage for good at 21-20 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Lady Lions took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Alabama State lost the second set 25-21, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. UAPB grabbed the advantage for good at 19-18 in a set that was knotted up four times before the Lady Lions took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Alabama State rallied back to pull within two sets to one, winning their first set of the match in the third stanza. The Lady Hornets grabbed control of the set early when the score was 2-1 and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-18. Alabama State led by eight points at 17-9 before closing out the stanza, collecting 17 kills in the set.
SET 4 | The Lady Hornets survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured six lead changes and was tied 10 times. Neither team was able to grab a lead larger than four points along the way. Alabama State also supplemented their offense with three aces in the set.
SET 5 | Alabama State dropped the first two sets, but put together a furious comeback to win the last three sets, culminating in a 15-11 fifth-set victory, and take the match 3-2. The Lady Hornets took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in set five to secure the victory. Alabama State opened up as much as a six point lead-at 13-7 before finishing off the set, totaling 11 kills along the way.
