JACKSONVILLE, Ala. --The Alabama State University baseball team struggled, mustering just two hits in a 16-4 loss to Jacksonville State University on Tuesday at Rudy Abbott Field-Jim Case Stadium.
Sophomore J. Martinez (6-4) started and took the loss on the mound for Alabama State (23-27). Senior Will Larson was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out one.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 13-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the sixth inning. Alabama State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run walk off the bat of sophomore Q. Jenkins. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Jacksonville State added three runs to their tally on the way to a 16-4 final.
