Alabama State University head men's basketball coach
Tony Madlock has finalized the non-conference portion of the 2025-26 schedule.
The Hornets are coming off a historic campaign which saw ASU win 20 games, win the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament and pick up the program's first win in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
ASU will take the floor against 13 non-conference opponents, with 12 of those coming on the road, and seven of those teams seeing post-season action following the 2024-25 season.
The challenging schedule will begin with road games at Florida State (Nov. 7) and at UAB (Nov. 11). The Blazers made a third-round appearance in the 2025 NIT.
The lone home game of the non-conference portion of the schedule is set to be played Nov. 14 against Virginia University-Lynchburg.
The Hornets will take a trip out west to face five teams over the next 10 days beginning with Colorado (Nov. 17) and a game at Air Force (Nov. 19).
The Hornets will stay in Colorado Springs to play in the Air Force MTE. ASU will face IU Indy (Nov. 21) and 2025 NCAA Tournament participant SIU Evansville (Nov. 23).
ASU's final game out west will be at New Mexico (Nov. 26), who played into the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season.
ASU will wrap up non-conference action in the month of December starting with a game at UT Martin (Dec. 7) before making their way to SEC-power Missouri (Dec. 11), another NCAA Tournament opponent from last season.
The final three games will be at Cincinnati (Dec. 17), who played in the CBC last season and another NCAA Tournament team, Memphis (Dec. 22). Following a short break for the holidays, the Hornets will be back on the court at Mississippi State (Dec. 29), who saw action in the NCAA Tournament following last season.
