MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University baseball suffered a 3-1 set back to Valparaiso on Sunday at the Wheeler-Watkins Basebal Complex.
A solid outing from T. Power (1-2) was not enough for Alabama State (6-5). The left-hander went 6.1 innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on three hits, allowing three walks and striking out four. Z. Baltz was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning while allowing one hit, walking none and striking out one.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets were trailing 1-0 in the fifth inning when they first put runs on the board. F. Santana came across to score the lone run of the inning for Alabama State and get them on the board. Valparaiso then scored two times over the remaining four innings to break the tie and grab the 3-1 win.
