MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama State's Quade Woods captured low medalist honors Tuesday at the 2026 Alabama State Spring Classic, edging the field by two strokes at Arrowhead Country Club. The Hornets finished fifth in the team standings after three rounds of play.
Woods delivered a dominant performance across the 54-hole tournament, finishing at 10-under-par 206 with rounds of 67, 68 and 71. His consistent play helped him hold off Florida A&M's Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul, who finished second at 8-under-par 208.
As a team, Alabama State posted a three-round total of 879 (+15) after rounds of 293, 291 and 295 to place fifth overall in the seven-team field. Florida A&M claimed the team title with an even-par 864, followed by Alabama A&M at 871 (+7). Evansville and Arkansas-Pine Bluff tied for third at 875 (+11).
Behind Woods' tournament victory, the Hornets placed three additional golfers inside the top 25.
Osiregbeme Egbakhumeh and Wesley Bairros Rodrigues each tied for 21st place at 10-over-par 226. Egbakhumeh recorded rounds of 79, 72 and 75, while Rodrigues carded 78, 75 and 73.
Telmo Sueiro finished tied for 24th at 227 (+11) with rounds of 74, 77 and 76, while Alberto Banos placed 27th at 228 (+12) after shooting 74, 76 and 78.
Two Hornets also competed as individuals. Chotithuch Wangpaibulkit finished 36th at 238 (+22) with rounds of 81, 74 and 83, and Narabodin Swaengdee placed 39th at 241 (+25) after posting rounds of 80, 80 and 81.
