Alabama State falls to Grambling In Series Finale

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State Hornets took a 12-11 lead into the eighth inning but could not hang on and fell 14-13 to the Grambling Tigers Sunday.

John Gonzalez (0-1) came out of the bullpen for Alabama State (9-9, 1-2 SWAC) and took the loss. Joe Dolinshek was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen as well and throwing one scoreless inning, allowing no hits, with no walks and three strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets lost despite scoring in six different innings in the ballgame, last holding the lead in the eighth inning at 12-11. Alabama State's biggest output came in its five-run first inning. The big hit for the Hornets in the inning was a two-run single off the bat of Jackson Williams.
