Alabama State Baseball Falls To Troy

MONTGOMERY, Ala. }, Alabama State University baseball struggled to cash in on scoring chances, leaving 10 Hornets on base in an 11-2 setback at the hands of the Troy University at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex on Tuesday.

Jaxon Baptist (1-4) started and took the loss on the mound for Alabama State (9-10). Joe Dolinshek was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going four innings, surrendering three runs, one earned, on four hits, walking none, and striking out two.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 5-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Alabama State got an RBI single from Breydon Divine, scoring Devin Chandler from third base.

The Trojans expanded their lead to 8-1 before the Hornets offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the fifth. Miguel Oropeza came across to score the lone run of the inning for Alabama State, which brought the score to 8-2 in favor of the Trojans. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Troy added three runs to their tally on the way to an 11-2 final.
