Hornets Win Third Straight With 7-4 Road Win over Georgia State

ATLANTA, Ga. | Alabama State used a pair of multi-run innings and timely hitting to secure a 7-4 victory over Georgia State on Tuesday at the GSU Baseball Complex in Atlanta. The Hornets improved to 12-11 on the season with the win.

Game Summary

Alabama State struck immediately in the top of the first inning when Jackson Williams delivered a three-run home run to left field, scoring Devin Chandler and Miguel Oropeza for an early 3-0 advantage. Georgia State answered in the bottom half with a two-run single from John Beverley to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Hornets added a run in the second inning as Oropeza doubled home Breydon Divine, pushing the lead to 4-2. After three scoreless innings, Alabama State broke the game open in the sixth, plating three runs. Niguel Jenkins drove in a run on a fielder's choice before Jose Alfonso and Oropeza followed with RBI doubles to extend the lead to 7-2.
