Alabama State Falls To Florida A&M In Series Opener

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --The Alabama State University baseball team had a tough outing on Friday, falling to the Florida A&M Rattlers by a final score of 5-1.

Jorhan LaBoy (3-4) got the ball to start for Alabama State (12-12, 3-4) and took the loss. Caio Araujo was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen and throwing two shutout innings, allowing no hits, with three walks and two strikeouts.

The Hornets were paced by Miguel Oropeza, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets were trailing 5-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Fabian Santana came across to score the lone run of the inning for Alabama State and get them on the board. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
