MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University baseball fell to Longwood University 16-1 to open a four-game series on Friday at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.
Jorhan LaBoy (3-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Alabama State (6-7).
Divine's three-hit day led the Hornets offensively. Devin Chandler went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and an RBI. Miguel Oropeza chipped in two hits in four trips with a double and a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 4-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the sixth inning. Chandler put Alabama State on the board with a one-out solo home run off Jaxson Lloyd. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Longwood added 12 runs to their tally on the way to a 16-1 final.
