WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. | The Alabama State University men's golf team closed out play at the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship with a fourth-place finish in the Division I team standings on Wednesday in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Hornets posted a three-round total of 890 (294-296-300) to finish fourth overall in the national event.
Alabama State was led by standout sophomore Quade Woods, who finished second individually after carding a three-round score of 209 (70-70-69), finishing four-under par for the tournament. Woods closed strong with a one-under-par 69 in the final round to secure runner-up medalist honors.
Wesley Barros also turned in a solid performance for the Hornets, tying for 13th overall with a 219 total. Alberto Banos finished 23rd at 227, while Telmo Sueiro placed 26th with a 237 total.
Florida A&M captured the team championship with an 844 total, followed by North Carolina A&T State University (856), Prairie View A&M University (874), Alabama State (890), Alabama A&M University (894), and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (896).
