MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University's women's bowling program continued to excel both on the lanes and in the classroom as the Hornets were recognized by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) for their academic achievements during the 2025-26 academic year.
Three Alabama State student-athletes—Jenna
 Knight, Olivia Miller, and Neveah Williams—were named 2025-26 NTCA All-Academic Scholar Athletes, highlighting the program's commitment to academic excellence.
The NTCA honored 405 student-athletes from 68 NCAA bowling programs as All-Academic Scholar Athletes for the 2025-26 academic year. The recognition is awarded to collegiate bowlers who have demonstrated success in the classroom while competing at the highest level of the sport. Student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.4 grade-point average during the academic year to qualify.
Knight, a junior from Bowie, Maryland, majoring in computer information systems, earned the academic distinction after another strong season representing the Hornets. Miller, a junior from Lima, Ohio, pursuing a degree in forensic biology, was also recognized, while Williams, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, majoring in English and secondary education, rounded out Alabama State's honorees.
In addition to individual academic recognition, Alabama State's bowling program was named an NTCA All-Academic Scholar Team. The Hornets posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.320 during the 2025-26 academic year to earn the honor.
To qualify for the NTCA All-Academic Scholar Team award, programs must maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher during the academic year. Sixty NCAA bowling programs earned the distinction in 2025-26, showcasing the continued balance of athletic and academic achievement throughout collegiate bowling.
The recognition caps another successful year for Alabama State bowling, which continued to represent the Hornet community with excellence in competition and in the classroom.
