Prairie View, TX- The Alabama State University Soccer team could not survive in their SWAC opener falling to Prairie View in Texas tonight.

The Lady Pirates scored two goals in the first period and two more in the second for a final of 4-0. “We simply missed several point blank shots tonight”. Said head coach Jodie Smith. “The opportunities were there but we just couldn't capitalize on them”.

ASU will continue their Texas road swing as they head to Texas Southern for a Sunday afternoon match. “We would love to split and try to steal one of these matches here on the road, but we must take away the errors”. Said Coach Smith.

Sunday's game against Texas Southern is slated to start at 1 p. m.
