Final Boxscore

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.
– The Alabama State baseball team fell behind early in a disappointing 9-1 midweek loss at Florida A&M Wednesday afternoon at Moore-Kittles Field.

With the win, FAMU (7-19-1) avenged a 7-2 loss last week at Alabama State (10-11).

The Rattlers scored three runs in the bottom of the first to take the early lead and then tacked on four more in the third for a 7-0 advantage.

After three scoreless innings of play, ASU tallied its lone run of the contest in the seventh when Drew Quinney crossed the plate on a ground out by Adrian Snell.

FAMU closed the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the seventh.

The Hornets finished with just five hits in the contest led by two from Quinney. Eight of the nine Florida A&M starters collected a hit in the game with Derrick Shaw and Jimmie Terrell pacing the Rattlers with two hits each.

Both squads saw their starting pitchers toss a complete game. ASU's Devin Dominguez worked eight innings allowing nine runs on 10 hits while striking out seven. Steven Dollar also struck out seven for FAMU in nine innings of work.

Alabama State returns home for a pair of games against Savannah State on Saturday and Sunday.
