ASU SOCCER FALLS TO USC UPSTATE
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Alabama State University Soccer team fell short to the University of South Carolina Upstate Sunday afternoon. The final from Hornet Stadium was 2-nill.
USC-Upstate scored one goal in each half which was all that was needed to come away with the win. The contest was scoreless until the 37:09 mark of the first period. Jessica Jackyra knocked in the first goal for Upstate. In the second period, The Lady Spartans scored their second goal off of an open net to go ahead 2-0.
“We're playing a lot harder and a lot better”. Said ASU head coach
Jodie Smith. “We made a pair of errors that cost us at difficult points in the game but I'm still pleased with our effort.”
ASU will open SWAC play traveling to Texas for a pair of matches against Prairie View and Texas Southern respectively. The two game road swing begins October 1st.
