MONTGOMERY—The Alabama State University tennis teams hosted Tuskegee University with the men pulling out a thrilling 4-3 win and the women dropping a 5-2 decision.
The men's match did not start well for ASU as they dropped two of the three singles matches to trail 1-0 entering singles action.
The women continue to battle the injury bug and entered the match against Tuskegee short a player which always makes it tough.
Tuskegee earned the doubles point and then won four of the six singles matches, including the forfeit at six singles for the final margin of victory.
The Hornets are now 2-3 on the season after the win while the Lady Hornets fall to 1-4. Both teams will face SWAC foe Mississippi Valley State Thursday, Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. The matches will be the first road matches of the season for ASU.
