ASU Softball Drops First Two of Magic City Classic Tournament
Birmingham, Ala. -- The Alabama State Softball team could not overcome several hits falling to Eastern Illinois 14-1 in day one of the Magic City Classic hosted by The University of Alabama Birmingham.
The lady Hornets gave up 14 runs off of 17 hits. Stephanie Hernandez picked up the loss for ASU. In 4.1 innings of play, she surrendered 11 earned runs while striking out one.
In game 2, Alabama State (3-7) faced Samford with much of the same results. Samford scored five runs in the second inning winning 13-0. Hernandez also picked up the loss in this match.
Sunday ASU will play Eastern Kentucky and UAB. First pitch is set for 9 am and 2 pm respectively.
