ASU Softball Prepares for Final Home Series and Senior Day
Montgomery, Ala. – The Alabama State (8-30, 4-10) softball team is all set to face arch rival Alabama A&M (3-24, 3-11) in its final home stand of the season this weekend. The series starts with a single game on Friday and a double-header on Saturday.
A trip to the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament is at stake. ASU must win two of the three games this weekend in order to make it to post-season play. The winner of the series will secure the fourth a final spot in the Eastern Division of the tournament.
The Lady Hornets look to bounce back from being swept at Murray State earlier this week. ASU has four players batting .365 or better this season led by Whitley Golson whose average is .408.
First pitch Friday starts at 6 p.m. and the double-header Saturday begins at 1 p.m. Prior to the start of Saturday's action, ASU senior Akesia Cloud will be honored.
