The Alabama State University soccer team will play host to the Alcorn State Braves Sunday, October 28 at the ASU Soccer Complex. The match is slated for 1 p.m.
“We have to play the entire ninety minutes tomorrow against a well coached team,” head coach
Jodie Smith said. “Alcorn is one of the tougher teams in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Eastern Division so we know we have our work cut out for us.”
After coming off a huge 1-0 lost to Mississippi Valley State on Friday, the Lady Hornets will be looking for redemption against the Braves on its senior day. ASU (6-8-2 overall/1-2 SWAC) played well in the first half against MVSU, but eased up on the back end and gifted a goal in the 49
th minute of the contest.
Seniors that are being recognized are,
Dominique Humphrey,
Franka Schauss,
Jordan Creel,
Maressa Gordon, and Captain
Lenna Lamas. The ladies will be recognized 10 minutes prior to the start of the contest.
“We'll go regroup and come back on Sunday refreshed and ready to play,” said Smith. “Ending our regular season with a win will be a huge momentum builder for us going into the tournament.”
