ASU Softball Loses Close Games to Bradley and Robert Morris College

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Box Score KENNESAW, Ga. – Game One: The Alabama State softball team falls in a close game to Bradley 7-6 today in Woodstock, Ga. at the Kennesaw State Tournament.
 
“We hit better in both games today and I'm happy about that,” said head coach Telma Hall. “Now we must find some chemistry and make it work to get the win.”
 
ASU (1-9) scored its first run in the bottom of the first inning off a double to left field from Sosefina Toilolo bringing around Brehanna Rodrigues.
 
The Lady Hornets added two more runs in the bottom of the third. Meagan Dixon doubled to left center, scoring Toilolo and Rodrigues.
 
Toilolo homered in the bottom of the fourth, scoring Rodrigues and Brittnei Price.
 
Rodrigues, Toilolo, and Kim Ross added two hits for the Lady Hornets. Rodrigues went 2-for-3 including three runs. Toilolo added a 2-for-4 outing including a homerun, four RBIs and two runs. Ross recorded a 2-for-4 day with a double and a single.
      
Box Score Game two: The Lady Hornets (1-10) faced and fell 6-5 to Robert Morris College (Ill.) at the Kennesaw State Tournament today in their second contest of the day.
 
Alabama State scored its five runs in the top of the second inning to lead the Eagles 5-2. Kim Ross singled to left field with one out in the inning to fire the bats up for ASU. Breeya Wright then walked to place runners on first and second. The very next batter, Ayesha Famble, blast a three-run homer to left field to score Ross and Wright.
 
Brehanna Rodrigues, Sosefina Toilolo, and Courtney Crossley added consecutive doubles, two to left field and one to right field. Rodrigues scored off Toilolo's double and Toilolo scored from Crossley's double.
 
Crossley went 2-for-4 on the day while Wright recorded a 2-for-3 outing to lead the Lady Hornets.
 
ASU will face Eastern Kentucky in the final day of the Kennesaw State Tournament tomorrow, Feb. 26 at noon.
