Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State softball team was defeated by the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes 14-1 in game one of the three game series on Friday at the newly named Barbara Williams Softball Complex.
 
The Devilettes (28-17 overall/14-0 SWAC) scored three runs in the top of the first to lead 3-0 over ASU.
 
Junior Kim Ross hammered a line drive homer to left field for the Lady Hornets (12-32 overall/7-7 SWAC), making the score 3-1 MVSU.
 
Mississippi Valley State recorded three more runs in the third and eight more in the sixth inning, making the final score 14-1.
 
The Alabama State softball team will return to the field Saturday, April 28 to complete its three game series against Mississippi Valley State beginning at 1 p.m.
