JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Alabama State baseball team lost in 14 innings at Jacksonville State 5-4 Tuesday night at Rudy Abbott Field.
 
ASU (19-29) scored single runs in the first, second, third and fifth innings to take a 4-1 lead, the big blow a solo home run by Manny Rodriguez in the second inning.
 
Jacksonville State (19-23) chipped away at the deficit with single runs in the fourth-seventh innings to tie the score at 4-4.
 
Both teams missed opportunities to score in extra innings before the Gamecocks scored in the 14^th on Kyle Bluestein's single down the left field line with two outs, scoring Sam Eberle.
 
The two teams will play again Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.
