ASU Softball Downed By Jacksonville State

Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State softball team (12-35) was shutout by the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Tuesday evening 20-0 at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex.
 
The Gamecocks (23-25) scored quick to open the game, as they took a 7-0 lead over the Lady Hornets in the top of the first inning and never looked back. JSU recorded six runs in the second, three more in the third inning, and four runs in the fourth inning.
 
Brehanna Rodrigues hit a single in the fourth and Kim Ross doubled in the bottom of the fifth to collect the only two hits recorded by Alabama State.
 
ASU will prep for its final stanza of the season as they head to Irondale, Ala. May 10-13 for the Southwestern Athletic Conference Softball Championships at Shea Brothers Complex.
