The Alabama State soccer team will travel to Mississippi to face Eastern division foe Alcorn State Friday, October 4 at Jack Spinks Stadium. The match is slated for
4 p.m.
"It's our first conference game, so we want to come out and set a tone for the second half of the season from the start," head coach
Jodie Smith said. "I think we've played pretty good toward the end of the preseason and hopefully, we will now continue to build momentum from that success."
The Lady Hornets (5-6) completed their non-conference schedule on a rather high note for the first time in the history of the program. Â Alabama State becomes the ?rst team since 2010 to record five wins in a season against non-conference opponents. ASU leads the conference with the most points (79), points per game (7.18), goals (29), and lots of other categories.
Alabama State defeated Alcorn State 2-1 in the final home game of the regular season going in to the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Lady Braves enters Friday's contest 0-4 on the season.
