MONTGOMERY –   After taking a few weeks off the Alabama state bowling team will return to the lanes to compete in the Texas Southern Open. The first roll is set for 10 a.m.
Â
Two weeks ago the Lady Hornets finished 5-4 during the All State Sugar Bowl Invitational hosted by Tulane, with a total pin fall count of 8508. Highlighted by Junior
Danielle Walker's tournament MVP performance, the Lady Hornets finished 3
rd overall. Â
Â
This tournament will feature host team Texas Southern, Conference USA's Louisiana Tech along with ASU in what will be a highly competitive early season tournament.
Â
"Facing the likes of Texas Southern and Louisiana Tech means we must maintain focus and vision of what we want to do," said Head Coach
Andrew Chatmon
Â
"These teams are very capable of beating anyone and cannot be taken lightly. Even though this is a smaller tournament it gives us a chance to get better and improve on our team focus. I expect good competition and for all of my athletes to perform up to our potential heading into this tournament."     Â
