Box Score 2 MACON, Ga. – The Alabama State Softball team was defeated by Mercer 3-2 and by IUPUI 15-1 at Sikes Field during the Mercer Tournament on Saturday.

Brehanna Rodrigues home. ASU recorded its final run in the fourth, when Rodrigues singled home
Brittnei Price to take a 2-1 lead.
“We started out great against Mercer, but didn't finish,” Head Coach Telma Hall. “We really didn't play well at all against IUPUI. We didn't answer with our bats today.”
The Bears (3-1) added runs in the bottom half of the third and in the sixth to take the 3-2 victory over the Lady Hornets.
The Lady Hornets had no answer for the Jaguars bats today. IUPUI (3-1) scored runs in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings to take the 15-1 victory over ASU. An eight run fifth inning sealed the deal for the Jags.
Meagan Dixon led the way once again for the Lady Hornets, going 5-for-7 with a RBI on the day. Rodrigues went 3-for-5 with a run and a RBI.
The Lady Hornets will play Mercer at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10 in the final day of the Mercer Tournament at Sikes Field.
