Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Alabama State softball team struggled to produce hits and score runs, falling to Tennessee State 5-1 during the final day of the Tiger Classic.  
 
ASU's Brehanna Rodrigues led off the first inning with a single to center field, stole second base, but couldn't come around to score.
 
A pair of doubles off the bat of Rodrigues and Meagan Dixon plated the only run for the Lady Hornets in the sixth inning.
 
Rodrigues went 3-for-3 with two singles, a double, and a stolen base to lead the Lady Hornets on the day.
 
For the weekend, Rodrigues had a .571 batting average, going 8-for-14 with three runs scored, two doubles, and 10 total bases. She was also 3-for-4 in the stolen base department.
 
TSU (8-14) scored runs in the first and third innings, ending a 5-1 ballgame.  
 
Alabama State will host Samford at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex.
