Prairie View came out in the sixth inning scoring their final two runs of the game leading Alabama State 8-3. The Lady Hornets just wouldn't go away scoring their final three runs in the top of the seventh to close out the inning and the game.
Meagan Dixon led the Lady Hornets going 1-3, while teammate Williams was 1-2 and an RBI. Rodrigues was 1-1 on the day.
“We played o.k. today,” said head coach Telma Hall. “We didn't play as well as I would have liked the team to have played. We made too many errors and waited way too late to rally. We need to be a lot more consist with getting the ball where it needs to go and cut down on the mistakes. I look forward to coming out tomorrow and do a much better job.”
The Lady Hornets will return to play on Saturday at 10 a.m. when they face Texas Southern at the Lear Athletic Complex in Longview, Texas.
