Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Alabama State softball team was defeated by both Indiana University 8-0 and Tennessee State 10-0 during the first day of the Tiger Classic on Friday evening.
                                           
Brehanna Rodrigues recorded the first hit for the Lady Hornets, blasting a two-out single to left field in the third.
 
The Hoosiers (11-11 overall) scored three runs in the third and five in the fifth, capping the 8-0 ballgame.   
 
Alabama State (1-16) threatened to score in the fourth after, collecting a one-out triple off the bat of Meagan Dixon to right center.
 
Rodrigues and Dixon were the only two Lady Hornets with a hit apiece in game one.
 
Tennessee State (6-12) scored two runs in the first to jump out to an early lead in game two for the Lady Hornets. The Tigers added more runs in the second and fifth, taking the 10-0 victory over ASU.  
 
Stephanie Hernandez and Brittnei Price had a hit each for the Lady Hornets.    
 
Alabama State will face St. Louis at 9:30 a.m. and faces Nebraska Omaha at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Tiger Field in Nashville, Tenn. during the second day of the Tiger Classic.
